Cetirizine diHCl
Cetirizine diHCl — second-generation h1 antihistamine. CAS 83881-52-1. Supplied with CoA, MSDS and batch traceability records.
Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active metabolite of hydroxyzine and antagonises peripheral H1 receptors selectively. It crosses the blood-brain barrier only slightly, causing markedly less sedation than first-generation antihistamines.
Distinctly bitter — chewable and liquid presentations need a taste-masking system or coating.
